Maxfield Mayfair Studio (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a web design and development studio based in the United Kingdom. We are the “data controller” responsible for the personal information collected through this website.

When you complete our consultation form or contact us, we collect the details you choose to provide — typically your name, email address, project type and any message about your site, budget or plans.

Information we collect automatically

Like most websites, we may collect limited technical information when you visit — such as your device type, browser, approximate location and the pages you view — through cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy for detail.

03How and why we use your information

We use your information to respond to your enquiry, arrange and carry out consultations, provide our web design and development services, keep records, improve the website and meet our legal obligations. We rely on the following lawful bases under the UK GDPR:

• Consent — where you have actively submitted an enquiry or opted in. You can withdraw consent at any time.
• Performance of a contract — where we are taking steps at your request before, or while, providing our services.
• Legitimate interests — to run and secure our business and respond to enquiries, provided your rights do not override those interests.
• Legal obligation — where we must keep records for tax, accounting or regulatory reasons.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

05Who we share your information with

We share personal information only where necessary, with:

• Our form and email providers — for example Web3Forms, which delivers consultation enquiries to our inbox.
• Our hosting and IT providers — who store the website and our email securely on our behalf.
• Professional advisers and authorities — such as accountants, or regulators where we are legally required to disclose information.

Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) — with your consent only, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: pages visited, time on site, new vs returning visits, approximate location (from a truncated IP address) and referral source. This is aggregated statistics, not identification; we retain analytics data for up to 14 months. See Google's privacy policy. You can refuse or withdraw this at any time via the cookie banner or the "Change your cookie choices" control on our cookie policy.

All processors are required to keep your information secure and to use it only for the purposes we specify.

06International transfers

Some of our providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we take steps to ensure your information is protected by an adequate level of safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent.

07How long we keep your information

We keep enquiry information only as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards. Where you become a client, we keep project records for as long as required to provide our services and to meet professional, insurance and legal obligations, after which we securely delete or anonymise them.

08Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:

• access a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
• ask us to erase your information in certain circumstances;
• restrict or object to our processing of your information;
• request that we transfer your information to another provider (data portability);
• withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on it.

09How we keep your information secure

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including secure hosting, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls — to protect your information against loss, misuse or unauthorised access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and review our measures regularly.

10Children’s privacy

Our website and services are aimed at adults and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11How we use artificial intelligence

We believe in being open about artificial intelligence. We use AI tools to assist with software development and to help generate visual and motion assets — for example, imagery and sequences used in our cinematic scroll films. All AI-assisted output is directed, reviewed and finished by our team, and responsibility for the quality and accuracy of our work remains entirely ours.

Where a project we build for you includes an AI-powered feature, such as a website assistant, we will make clear what it does and what information it processes before it goes live. We do not enter your confidential information into third-party AI tools without your agreement.

Every AI assistant we build — including Max on this website — clearly identifies itself as an AI at the start of a conversation. This disclosure is on by default and is never switched off, in line with our own standards and the transparency requirements of Article 50 of the EU AI Act, which apply to AI systems serving customers in the EU from 2 August 2026.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
